Morphorit and Binot Ltd

MORPHORIT Ltd. (1977-1981)
BINOT Ltd. (1982- 1987)
Research and Development Companies in the field of “Light Weight Space Structures” – tensile membrane and shel structures.
The companies were established with private investors, recruited by Reuben Wymer with M.Burt, E.Kent and A.Glasman as chief researchers.
Most of the membrane structures from polyester reinforced P.V.C fabrics, utilized a wide range of modular hyperbolic-saddle shaped units, which were designed to serve as roofs for swimming pools,
pavilions and tourist or educational facilities with an overall realized covered area of ~ 25000sqm. mostly in Israel. Of special note:

1. Morphorit – (1977) an innovative modular P.V.C shell structure for the Marine Engineering Laboratories at the Technion, I.1.T, of ~2000sqm (patented).
2. The Floris – 1980, Flower Exhibition Pavilions (1750sqm), of tensile hexahyparic membrane units.
3. ‘The Carmiel Commercial Mall’. modular roof membrane structure, (~3000sqm.)-1984.
4. The Amado Court modular membrane roof structure-(700sqm), at the Technion, I.I.T-1985.
5. Research and Development of a shell construction technology, utilizing a reinforced ‘shot Crete’ on pre-tensioned membrane mould; with large-scale -experiments, conducted with Prof. M.Adin and Prof.A. Ben-ur in the National Building Research Center, at the Technion, I..T (-1985).
On the basis of this technology a sport hall of Kibbutz Gevat was designed (-3000sqm, not executed).
